Nice to meet you
We’re Anwyl – a family home builder
We started life as a woodworking business, founded by our great grandparents over 90 years ago. By 1980, we were creating thoughtfully designed homes for over 250 families every year
These days, you’ll find us at our new offices in Ewloe, Flintshire and Chorley, Lancashire. We now build around 800 new homes per year. Not bad considering we still give each one the family seal of approval.

Our Founder
1930-1947
Thomas Anwyl and his son Walter started a joinery business at 2 Millbank Villas, Rhyl.
T. Anwyl & Sons was officially incorporated. During this period the business expanded taking on contracting work for companies such as Marks & Spencer, WHSmith & Boots, building homes in Rhyl and neighbouring towns.
Established in 1967
1967-1990
Anwyl Construction Company Ltd formed.
During the 1980’s the decision was taken to grow the house building divison outside of the Rhyl area into the surrounding areas of North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.
Investing in you
2002-2004
Invested in new machinery for our joinery workshop, to create traditional and bespoke staircases, doors and kitchens.
Featured in the Profit Track 100 League Table.
National Housebuilder of the Year
2014-2016
Anwyl Homes win National Housebuilder of the Year award.
Anwyl Group move from Mona Terrace, Rhyl to new purpose built head office at St David’s Park, Flintshire.
Celebrating 90 years
2017 – 2020
Anwyl Homes open new Lancashire office expanding their geographical area to incorporate a new region.
2020 Anwyl celebrated 90 years of thoughtful building
The company won House builder of the Year at the Insider Residential Property Awards 2020.
A focus on eco-friendly features
2022 – 2023
We began building our first development featuring air source heat pumps, alongside other eco-friendly features including PV panels and electric car charging points.
Going Digital: We started investing in new sales centres with state-of-the-art 3D virtual reality technology and began the development of a new website.
The company won House builder of the Year at the Insider Residential Property Awards 2020.
